Frédérique Constant Genève is proud to introduce its new Amour Ladies Automatic Collection designed by ShuQi, the famous Taiwanese-born movie star & glamorous personality, who has been the Frédérique Constant Brand Ambassador for Greater China since 2008. Through the advertising campaign for Ladies, ShuQi has already actively supported Frédérique Constant charity campaigns in China with the Paint a Smile Foundation and Beijing Children’s Hospital.

As a truly passionate Ambassador, ShuQi chose to make an even greater contribution to our charity campaign, by creating in close collaboration with the designers of our Geneva Manufacture, her very own range of timepieces: the new Amour Heart Beat Automatic. ShuQi’s recent visit to the Frederique Constant workshops in Geneva to settle the final details of this new collection, formed a great opportunity for a photoshoot, which will promote her new collection in Greater China and around the world. The magnificent mountainous Geneva region served as the perfect backdrop. Very soon, the new ShuQi campaign will be released.

Frédérique Constant is delighted with the commitment of ShuQi to this unique project and –for the well-being of as many children as possible- wishes ‘Fu’ (Chinese for ‘good luck’) to this new collection!

Cinema, the right line for me: Nicole Faria – Frederique Constant Ambassador

Nicole is proud ambassador of Frédérique Constant and wears her Chocolate Double Heart Beat daily.

The 21-year-old is passing on all her crowns now and she isn’t exactly sad about it, but admits to have gotten ‘a little emotional’. “I had tears in my eyes before stepping on to the stage to crown the new Miss Earth Olga Alava. I wasn’t sad or anything, I will always be the first Indian to win the crown. I just got a little overwhelmed seeing footage of me getting crowned last year. It just sunk in that it’s been over a year already. But the last twelve months have been simply incredible,” confesses Nicole. “I saw so much!” she remarks.

“I am proud to have been chosen as the Ambassador of fine Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant of Geneva. I was traveling 90 per cent of the time. I went to Switzerland, New York, Australia, Dubai, South Africa and London, experienced so many different cultures, met interesting people that I would have never had met otherwise. It was just incredible. Sometimes I’d complain to my mom that my back hurts from the constant traveling. But she’d tell me that I had no idea how lucky I was, which is true, my life has really changed,” she admits.

In hindsight, it’s incredible how much life can change overnight, quite literally at that! “I think it took a lot more than a night. Years of hard work and preparation went into it and so many people contributed to my success, most of all my parents. My mother is an etiquette trainer and my dad is a motivational speaker, together they have played a big role in my success,” she retorts.

Nicole is now deciding between a career in acting and modeling. She thinks she’s cut out for acting. “I have always been a drama queen since the time I was a kid, so cinema is definitely the right line for me. I am also considering going international with modeling. I have been getting offers from Bollywood and down South as well. Now that I have the time I want to give acting a shot. Keeping my fingers crossed,” she shares.

FREDERIQUE CONSTANT CELEBRATES AT THE FINISH OF LA CARRERA PANAMERICANA 2011

Geneva – November 2011

With a history dating back to 1950, La Carrera Panamericana is a legendary race that hosts hundreds of drivers and co-drivers and millions of classic car aficionados. This year, during the 24th edition of the event, one hundred and eighteen cars with drivers from 15 different nationalities participated in La Carrera Panamericana. They traveled more than 3’000 kilometers (1’800 mi) across Mexico, starting their journey in Huatulco, located on the south coast of Mexico, to finish seven days later in the colonial city of Zacatecas.

The first car to reach the finish podium -located in front of the Cathedral of Zacatecas- was the Studebaker (#102) of Ricardo Triviño. As the winner of this 24th edition, both him and his co-driver Mr. Marco Hernández were extremely proud and excited to have won this race, a competition of endurance, for both men and machine. Mr. Ricardo Triviño said upon his glorious arrival:  ‘Perseverance, wisdom and true passion are the key elements required to win a race like this. It is exciting that Frederique Constant supports these same values in the development of their watch collections!’ Behind the winners came Douglas Mockett (Oldsmobile, #133) and Hilaire Damiron (Buick, #115) on second and third place for the overall race.
Some other famous drivers that attended this competition were Jo Ramírez, better know as the “Champion Maker”, and the Mexican driver Michel Jourdain.
Pedro Neumann, Frederique Constant´s exclusive distributor in Mexico, welcomed the competitors at the finish in Zacatecas. Neumann said: “La Carrera Panamericana is the most important automotive event in Mexico, and world famous for being one of the toughest and most challenging road races in history. Frederique Constant is passionate about classic and vintage cars, and therefore extremely pleased and honored to be the Official Timekeeper of one of the most important classic car events in the world”.
During the award ceremony, Pedro Neumann on behalf of Frederique Constant awarded the winners with a Frédérique Constant timepiece from the Vintage Rally Collection. This collection was entirely inspired by the magical universe of classic and vintage cars.

October 21st, 2011 : The Start of La Carrera Panamericana – sponsored by Frederique Constant!

October 21st, 2011, Huatulco, Mexico

By being the Official Timekeeper of La Carrera Panamericana, Frederique Constant reinforces its involvement in classic and vintage car events around the globe. Passion is the key requirement for taking part in this legendary event. It is this same passion that successfully guides Frederique Constant on its journey through the world of Swiss watchmaking.

La Carrera Panamericana, The Mexican Road Race (1950-1954), was one of the most famous events in auto racing history. Many of the most famous drivers in the world tested their skills driving 2’000 miles across Mexico at full speed. The event was revived as a stage rally in 1988 and for twenty-four years has offered both experienced racers and novices an opportunity to experience the thrills and challenges of the original Pan Am. Today it is unique in the world—racing against the clock at full speed on public highways for a week — and passionately sponsored by Frederique Constant Geneve!

Yesterday, Friday October 21st, 2011, one hundred cars lined up in southern Mexico to race 1’600 miles north to the beautiful city of Zacatecas. The event passes though the heart of the country, a string of impressive mountains and colorful colonial cities. The Mexican Highway Patrol, whose top officers travel with the race, clears the highways for the timed speed runs. Along the way, two million spectators will cheer the competitors along.

Each night the race rests in a different city. This year the Pan Am will start in the Pacific resort of Huatulco and stop for the night in Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Morelia, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, and Zacatecas. These cities are at high altitude, so the weather is typically cool and clear.

The Mexican Road Race is always an adventure. Just getting a race car to the start is a challenge. The Pan Am remains a serious test of drivers and their cars, plus it’s a major cultural experience. Finishing the race after seven long days behind the wheel is another major accomplishment. Earning a spot on the podium is a huge bonus. It’s a lifetime of memories.
