Shu Qi To Front Paint A Smile Campaign

Taiwanese movie actress Shu Qi is to be the new ambassador for Frederique Constant & the Paint a Smile Charity Project at the Beijing Children’s Hospital.

The 32-year-old star of films such as The Transporter and New York, I Love You, will front the new campaign for luxury watchmakers Frederique Constant, who recently announced their support to Paint a Smile for their next project at the Beijing Children’s Hospital.

Paint a Smile’s mission is to reduce patient anxiety and make hospitals more cheerful and friendly by permanently turning cold and impersonal environments into colourful and welcoming worlds. The charity was established by Laura Cotton after a tragic accident in her family made her decide to dedicate her life to the improvement of the hospital environment. Now the charity trains and sends professional teams of Smile Painters around the world to decorate and transform bare white walls into landscapes of dreams and fantasy.

‘I was delighted when Frédérique Constant asked me to be their Chinese Ambassador for the Ladies collection’ said ShuQi. ‘I have always loved watches and I am very excited by the Ladies Automatic Double Heartbeat Chocolate’.

Photo shoot for new Frederique Constant Brand Ambassador

Last week the photo shoot with the new Frederique Constant Brand Ambassador took place in a studio in Hong Kong. The new Ambassador will be officially announced during the Frederique Constant Passion Event 2008, on October 24 in Beijing.

Under the passionate direction of Paul Tsang, one of the best photographers in this field, a team of over 20 creative professionals worked together towards a great result.

The ambassador, who previously worked together with some of the big names in the luxury industry, proved to be a perfect fit with the elegant style of Frederique Constant’s ladies watches.

From beginning of November, the exciting new campaign will become visible throughout China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

September 2008: Record sales for Frédérique Constant

In September 2008 Frédérique Constant Geneve achieved its highest monthly turnover since the establishment of the brand.

This announcement was made by the CEO of the brand, Mr. Peter C. Stas. “We are proud to have reached our best month ever this September and it proves that our product proposition -accessible luxury- continues to have great potential. The initial idea behind the brand was to create Swiss Made, high quality and innovative watches at sensible prices. And still today, this mission is what drives our passion. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank our worldwide partners for their continuous support.”

With the stable development of sell-out in most countries and the expansion in areas such as the Middle East, Russia and Asia, Frédérique Constant expects to reach again a substantial growth by the end of 2008. With an impressive growth rate between 25 and 35% over the past twelve years the brand has created a solid position within the Swiss watch industry.

Major Frederique Constant Passion Event coming up in Beijing, China

At the moment the preparations of the Frederique Constant Passion Event in Beijing are in full effect. On October 24 over 300 VIP guests and journalists are expected to attend this exclusive happening, which is taking place on various locations throughout this exciting city. 

The event is organized to celebrate the re-launch of the Frederique Constant-brand on the Chinese market, with our new partner Xin Yu. Fredérique Constant invites its partners to talk watches

Beginning of September, Frédérique Constant organized its annual Distributor Meeting in Geneva for the sixth consecutive time. During this summit, the brand presented its overall-, its marketing- and its product strategies for the year to come.

With an exciting portfolio of new products for 2009, there was more than enough to discuss. During the various meetings, valuable comments and ideas were brought up by all parties.

Traditionally, the Frédérique Constant Distributor Meeting creates an opportunity for both the brand as well as its distribution partners. In order to satisfy market requirements, it has proven to be highly valuable to brainstorm on novelties in an early stage and to be able to make adjustments, without losing the unique and recognizable brand identity by carefully protecting its DNA.

The meetings normally result in the year-after-year presentation at BaselWorld of an internationally appreciated collection that accedes to a global taste.

Sir Richard Branson offers his Frédérique Constant watch for charity

Over 3000 guests gathered at the Hangar in Brisbane for the star studded evening hosted by Global Entrepreneur and Virgin Group Chairman, Sir Richard Branson, The Hon. Anna Bligh, Premier of Queensland and Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey.

Following a candlelit dinner from 8pm when event organizers switched off the lights for Earth Hour along with millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities, entertainers Marcia Hines, Rogue Traders, Evermore and Housequake kept the crowd on the dance floor until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Nearly $1 million was raised on the night for projects and initiatives under the theme ‘Indigenous Peoples, Natural Environment’. Amongst the array of ‘money can’t usually buy’ items in the mega charity auction, were two Frederique Constant timepieces worn by Sir Richard and Elka. Sir Richard’s Limited Edition timepiece from the High Life Collection is a signature piece from the brand featuring the unique ‘heart beat’ movement.

The ‘Heart Beat’ watch first developed by Frederique Constant in 1994 features a dial opening revealing the mechanical movement (or its “beating” heart). In 2004, after three years of research and development, Frederique Constant presented its first in-house movement, the ‘Heart Beat Manufacture.’ The company has since become a member of the small and exclusive group of Swiss watch manufacturers that produce their own calibres.

Frederique Constant is distributed in Australasia by the AVSTEV Group. Steven Rom, CEO, AVSTEV Group, acquired the distribution rights to the brand in 2006.
